Copenhagen is the capital of Denmark and the most populous city in the Nordic countries. It is located on the eastern coast of the island of Zealand, at the mouth of the Øresund Strait.

Nyhavn
Nyhavn is the picturesque waterfront you’ll see on a thousand Copenhagen postcards. The multi coloured buildings reflect perfectly in the harbour, which is lined with restaurants and bars. Sit back and take in the surroundings.

Louisiana Museum of Modern Art
The Louisiana Museum of Modern Art is a short train ride North of Copenhagen but it’s well worth the visit. With a rotating roster of exhibits as well as the fixed sculpture garden. Even the design of the museum itself is a work of art.

Freetown Christiania
Freetown Christiania is a liberated area of Copenhagen. If you search for Copenhagen on Google Maps, you’ll see a separate area that is outside of the city limits. There are no laws but it is quite safe. When you’re here you can rent a Christiana Bike for a few hours to cycle around the rest of Copenhagen.

The Little Mermaid
Some say it’s a bit underwhelming but no visit to Copenhagen is complete without seeing the statue of The Little Mermaid. It’s a short walk towards the coast but if you’re on a bike, it’s accessible. See who can spot it first and give yourself a prize.

Tivoli Gardens
Tivoli Gardens is a quaint themepark in the centre of Copenhagen. It combines old fairground rides with some newer rollercoasters in some landscaped gardens. It costs less than €20 for a ticket so it’s quite affordable and kid friendly.

The Round Tower
17th-century tower with an observatory, planetarium, event hall & spiral ramp instead of stairs. Can you climb all the way to the top? Tickets are available for around €5 so it’s affordable for all

CopenHill
Artificial ski slope on the roof of an ultra-modern energy plant, used also for hiking & climbing. Get to the top and enjoy amazing views before swooping to the bottom.

Kastellet
Star-shaped 17th-century fortress with ramparts & a museum, regular host to events & concerts. Tickets are free and it’s right next to The Little Mermaid so if you’re in the area, get moving!

Museum of Danish Resistance
Museum with subterranean exhibitions on the Danish resistance movement during WWII. It costs approximately €15 for a ticket and is closeby to Kastellet and The Little Mermaid so it makes sense to do them all on the same day.
